WCC STUDENTS

Teaching Students to Live & Love Like Christ

WCC's Student Ministry is designed for middle school (6-8 grade) and high school (9-12 grade) students.  The middle school meets on Sunday mornings at 9am for Sunday school as well as Sunday nights at 5:30pm for youth group. The High school meets on Sunday mornings at 9am for Sunday school as well as Sunday nights at 7:15pm for youth group.  These groups meet on Sunday's to live out the six values held by WCC.  If you are a student or a parent of a student you want to make sure to take advantage of these really fun and valuable opportunities!

  • STUDENT MINISTRY SCHEDULE | FALL 2018

  • SUNDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP | JR/SR HIGH

    Sunday Night Youth Group is the best place for you to come and get plugged in. We’ll have games, a lesson, and small group time for every age and gender. You’ll want to come check it out and bring your friends too! The 6th-8th grade meets from 5:30-7pm and the 9th-12th grade will go from 7:15-9pm.  


  • HS GIRLS HANGOUT | 3RD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

    Every third Sunday starting on September 16th there will be a high school girls hang out at Teresa Hilliard’s (531 Pine Ridge Ct., Lansing). It will go from 5-7pm and there will be dinner, a devo, and a chance to hang out!


  • BACKPACK BUDDIES | SEPTEMBER 23

    Backpack Buddies is the weekend feeding program of Second Harvest Community Food Bank. Children are provided with a healthy breakfast, a healthy lunch and a healthy snack each weekend during the school year, including extended breaks. This semester the Student Ministry will help pack over 300 backpacks for this program on Sunday, September 23rd from 4-5:30pm. 



  • SEE YOU AT THE POLE | SEPTEMBER 26

    See You at the Pole is a prayer rally where students meet at their school’s flagpole before classes start to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. It is completely led by students, for students. Thousands of middle schools and high schools across the US will participate. The date is Wednesday, September 26th at 7am by your school’s flagpole. 


  • GET-A-WAY | SEPTEMBER 28-29

    Get a Way is an overnight event for the 6th-8th graders held at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO on September 28th-29th. They will have great speakers, worship, and classes as well as a fun late night event. The cost is $40. Payment and registration are due Sunday, September 16th, after that the cost goes up to $50.

  • LIBERTY CORN MAZE | OCTOBER 14

    On Sunday, October 14th Wallula will be canceling JAM and SNYG and heading to the Liberty Corn Maze in Liberty, MO! This event is open to all ages and families and is only $8/person. We will meet at Wallula at 3pm and get back around 8pm. Registration and payment are due Sunday, October 7th

  • TRUNK OR TREAT | OCTOBER 31

    Wallula will be putting on a Trunk or Treat event Wednesday, October 31st from 6-8pm. We will need plenty of volunteers to help with directing traffic, donating candy, and being a trunk host for the event. If interested please sign up at the Next Step Station. This is a great service opportunity and a great chance to invite your family and neighbors to this safe family fun night. 


  • JOHN CRIST | NOVEMBER 29

    Thursday, November 29th we’ll be going to see Christian comedian John Crist (johncristcomedy.com) live in St. Jo, MO. The tickets are $30 and we only have a limited number so if you’re interested let Zach know! This is event is open to all 6th-12th graders through September and then it will be open to the rest of the Wallula family. 



  • THE EVENT | NOVEMBER 30-DECEMBER 1

    Held at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO, this high school event will have great speakers, worship, classes, and plenty of free time to hang out and have fun! The dates are Friday, November 30th – Saturday, December 1st. More info to come.  



  • WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE | DECEMBER 16

    What is it? Everyone brings a wrapped gift that cost about $5 and then that’s where the fun begins. What follows is some stealing, luck, guessing, and a lot of fun! The person that brings the best gift (as voted on by the group) will receive a special prize! This will be on Sunday, December 16th our final Sunday Night Youth Group of the semester.
