Wallula Christian Preschool is located within Wallula Christian Church, allowing us to maintain small class sizes of 12 students or fewer. Each classroom is led by a dedicated teacher, with the director available to support both classes as needed. We are blessed with a beautiful, safe facility where students can learn about God while developing their social, emotional, and academic foundations. We encourage families to schedule a tour, as our goal is for families to feel confident, comfortable, and excited about their preschool choice. Preschool is the beginning of a child’s educational journey—and a time when many children first fall in love with learning.
As a Christian preschool, we intentionally incorporate God into our daily conversations, actions, and lessons. Each week, students are introduced to a new Bible story, taught in a variety of engaging ways such as reading from the Bible, acting out the story, or retelling it in their own words. Approximately once a month, students also work together to memorize a Bible verse as a class.
Our academic instruction follows a letter-based curriculum, using a weekly letter to connect lessons, activities, and crafts. Throughout the school year, students spend at least one week focused on each letter of the alphabet, numbers 0–20, ten colors, and ten shapes. After the initial introduction, these concepts are continually reinforced through cumulative review. Understanding that preschoolers have short attention spans, we keep activities brief—typically no longer than 15–20 minutes. While this can be challenging at the beginning of the year, students grow and are able to engage in longer activities by year’s end.
Students must meet the age requirement for their enrolled class on or before August 31 and be independent in the bathroom. Our school year begins in late August and concludes in mid-May. In the event of inclement weather, we follow USD 469 Lansing cancellations.
